*Peanut Butter Celebration*

Aftercare has many special celebrations throughout the year! Did you know that November is National Peanut Butter Month?! Well aftercare decided one afternoon we would try peanut butter with all kinds of different snacks! Note we did make sure there were not any peanut allergies! :) We tried peanut butter with crackers, celery, bananas, strawberries, apples, and even oreos!

The All Time Favorite Peanut Butter Snack: Peanut Butter with Crackers

We had a lot of fun trying all of the new treats with peanut butter! The children's expressions were pricesless (when they loved the snack, and when they didn't like it)

In the end as Kennedy would say "The Best Day Ever!"

*Art with Ms. Megan*

Aftercare has been doing some new activities this year! Our art projects have been fantabulous! Our very own Ms. Megan is majoring in art, so we are putting her talent to work! She has done so many, unique, and fun projects! Here are some pictures of what the children have done!

Ms. Megan had a lot of fun creating Ghosts with the preschooler's feet! There were tons of giggles

Crayon Melts were a huge hit with the kids! Everyone wanted to them! They were super cute and super fun!

Who Likes Creepy Crawlies?! The kids enjoyed making spiders and spider webs!

We also made our very own jackolanterns! All of the kids loved putting their own twists to their pumpkins! Mustaches were a BIG hit on quite a few pumpkins!

Spooky Eyeballs (Peanut Butter Balls)
Ingredients:
1 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter                                  6 tablespoons butter, softened
2 Cups powdered sugar                                          2 1/8 ounces Butterfinger bar, finely chopped
12 Ounces white chocolate or 12 Ounces of vanilla candy coating
40 M&M's plain chocolate candy                           red food coloring or decorating gel
black food coloring or decorating gel

Directions:
1.  In a mixing bowl stir together peanut butter and butter until creamy.
2.  Gradually add powdered sugar, stirring until combined.
3.  Stir in Butterfinger candy.
4.  Shape into 1-inch balls; place on wax paper.
5.  Freeze about 45 mins
6.  Melt white chocolate in a double boiler or get a med sauce pan filled 1/4 of the way with watr and heat until simmering and place a large glass or stainless steel bowl over top and turn heat off- if water is boiling it will scorch chocolate.
7.  Add chocolate to bowl, stir constantly until melted and smooth, if you want the coating thinner add a Tbs shortening until desired thickness is reached.
8.  Dip balls, one at a time, into coating.  Let excess coating drip off.
9.  Place on waxed paper, immediately press an M&M onto center of each peanut butter ball.

Pizza Mummies
Ingredients
 English muffins                              Pizza Sauce
Black olives                                     Scallions
Red or green pepper                        Cheese sticks or slices

Directions
1.  Heat the oven to 350 degrees.  For each mummy, spread a tablespoon of pizza sauce onto half of an English muffin
2.  Set olive slices in place for eyes and add round slices of green onion or bits of red or green pepper for pupils.
3.  Lay strips of cheese (we used a pulled-apart cheese stick) across the muffin for the mummy's wrappings
4.  Bake for about 10 mins or until the cheese is melted and the muffin is toasty.
